Phone-loss recovery, reimagined

Losing your phone shouldn’t mean losing your digital life.

VoxViel is being built to help you find your footing from another supported device—with a clear view of what was backed up, what can come with you, and what cannot.

The recovery path

A way back, step by step.

This is the intended experience, not a live recovery service. Every step below depends on features still being built and tested.

Important to know

A backup is not a time machine.

Information that did not successfully back up may be unavailable. VoxViel cannot promise to retrieve data from a lost, offline, damaged, or unsupported phone.

01

Sign in somewhere safe

Planned

The goal is access from another supported phone or browser without the missing phone. This recovery flow is planned, not available yet.

02

Verify it’s really you

Voice planned

“my voice is my password” is a future signature, not a live login method. Voice verification is planned only as an optional factor alongside a passkey or other strong independent factor; it is not spoof-proof. Accessible recovery codes and a non-voice route must remain available.

03

Review what was backed up

Backup planned

A future backup history will show available content and the time each backup completed, so you can see what is actually there before restoring.

04

Retrieve supported items

Restore planned

Restore or export only information that was successfully backed up and is supported on the destination. Data that never completed backup may be unavailable.

05

Revoke the missing device’s access

Planned

Planned VoxViel session revocation would remove that device’s access to your VoxViel account. It would not lock, locate, erase, or disable the phone itself.

06

Contact your carrier about the SIM

Guidance planned

Carrier guidance is planned. You must work with your carrier to secure or replace a SIM; VoxViel cannot restore carrier service or ownership of a number.

Separate, conditional capabilities

Some things need more than a backup.

Phone controls and calling are not part of a cloud backup. They need separate implementation, compatible systems, and—where relevant—an approved integration.

Not available

Find, lock, or erase a phone

Any future remote phone retrieval, lock, or data-destruction control is conditional on separate implementation and a compatible device, OS, and subscription. There are no such controls today.

Requires integration

Answer calls on another device

Live call answering requires a compatible calling integration or supported arrangement. It is not implemented or verified; backup and call alerts are not call answering.

Carrier action stays with you

SIMs, numbers, and service

Planned carrier guidance is not a carrier action. VoxViel will not suspend, replace, move, or forward a SIM or number, and cannot restore carrier service. Contact your carrier directly to secure or replace a SIM.

A separate part of the plan

Personal and business, with their own space.

Phone linking is secondary to recovery. Separate profiles and an optional combined inbox are planned, with each message clearly tied to the number it would use.

Planned

Personal

Your personal data and notification preferences, kept distinct.

Planned

Business

A separate business space and, where supported, a linked-device inbox.

No number transfer, SIM move, service cancellation, or forwarding is automatic. SMS, MMS, RCS, and email remain separate capabilities. Phone-based message relay would require the original phone online; SMS permission does not grant access to every messaging service.

Your digital life, considered

Recovery begins with what’s safely backed up.

VoxViel is in development. We’ll be clear about what works, what needs a compatible device, and what still depends on your carrier.
